Narrowboat Cactus at Braunston

I was impressed by Cactus at the recent rally of historic narrowboats at Braunston. The 15 hp Bolinder engine sounded earcatchingly lovely, and the boat looked stunning.

Here the crew are saying goodbye at lunchtime on the Sunday.

A little research reveals that Cactus was built as a motor for Fellows, Morton and Clayton in 1935 and was its 100th boat. In 1967 it was converted to a 46-seater passenger boat, being reconverted back to original condition in 1979.
