Llangattock to Llanfoist
At 1600 we went out again. It had turned to glorious sunshine, perfect for strolling along the towpath! I took the bike, and we walked down the drive and turned right onto the towpath. We soon got to Govilon - lots of interest here - and then to Llanfoist. It was still walking weather, despite the occasional snow flurry, so we carried on to Castle Upper Bridge 95. Here I cycled back to get the car, and Jan walked down the steep hill to Llanfoist to meet me. Having met up we drove into Abergavenny to look at the bandstand in the park (memories of stopping off there with the children on the way to South Wales with the caravan) and find somewhere to eat. I wasn’t particularly hungry, but Jan was. Found a Wetherspoon pub - the Coliseum, a converted cinema - and had good meal (liver and bacon for Jan, mixed grill for me).

these people were climbing on this boat, evidently beached when the canal was drained. I challenged them and they went away, dropping litter

Drove home and soon to bed. We might finish off the canal walk tomorrow! Just 14 miles to cover!
