Nine week cruise - day 64 - Saturday 3rd September
Milton Keynes to Soulbury
a few images of the interior of Lee Swallow
David got up at 0640 and took lots of photos of the inside of the boat. He left at 0705, cycling off to the station with his enormous kitbag-like rucksack on his back. John and Jan got up at 0800. I bought milk and a paper in New Bradwell local shop. Under way at 0925.
We watered up at Great Linford, John having a shower on board at the same time.
At 1500 we'd got back to our starting point: Willowbridge Marina, just south of Bletchley. We didn't have to hand the boat back until tomorrow, though, so we filled up with diesel (170.33 litres @ 49p/litre) and went on to the Three Locks, Soulbury. Winded in the pound above the second lock and moored up at 1850 just below the locks. Road seemed rather noisy. Ate at the Three Locks, which had changed considerably since we lived only a few miles away 15 years previously.
Bramcote Ashby Canal
-
We expected to get up to an inch of snow and a frozen canal, but both were
missing and only a light frost and maybe a scattering of snow over night.
