After Burton-upon-Trent we continued north east and crossed the River Dove.
Alongside the aqueduct is another bridge, no longer in use according to Nicholson's.
Very soon the familiar cooling towers of Willington Power Station loomed into view.
We stopped at Willington where Jan went to the shop, and I saw a familiar figure approaching the boat.
It was Nev of nb Percy, with Rachel and Leia. It was good to see you again, Nev, and to meet Rachel. I didn't talk much to Leia - perhaps one of us was shy! By the time Jan came back from the shop Nev and co. had gone, as they were on a limited lunch break.
