Entering a purple patch along the Lee

Monday 16th August 2010

Shortly after turning left onto the Lee Navigation from Duckett's Cut, with the Olympic Park dominating the east bank, we came across a lot of purple on the opposite side.

It was obvious where to go for more information, so I looked up leabanksquare.blogspot.com and found a thriving community in Hackney Wick.

We all love Leabank Square -
and want to see our lives here
 improve day by day.

They seem to have a thing about the colour purple, and have made a Purple Garden with a heavy emphasis on recycling. Not that you can see much of it from my photos.

Just today they were holding a Purple Garden Open Day for people to meet the gardeners and find out how the garden started.

I'm not sure about the "seed bomb" aspect, though.
