Well, either this has got you stumped, or you're all ignoring me. Someone have a guess! Please?
Here's just a teensy bit more:

Hi Halfi,
I'm not ignoring you, honest :)
But it is a brain scratching picture...
OK so it must be a Cast Iron object surely, and perhaps Lock Side Furniture too??
Kevin
It looks very much like a section through a piece of G.W.R. bridge rail. After the demise of the broad gauge much of the redundant rail was used for various purposes, reinforcing etc.
Kevin, iron, yes, but I don't think it counts as cast iron. Not exactly lockside furniture.
Graham and Jill, now you're on the right track (ho ho), but you're not there yet...
Halfie, you have us stumped. We thought maybe GWR track too, but will have to think again. We need another clue...
Ian and Karen
Ian and Karen, I'll post a slightly wider photo this evening.
Very curious indeed. By the way, the word verification thingy says I have to write in 'explains 425', so I hope you're going to :-)
Sometimes the word verification thingies can be spookily relevant!
