Two derelict branches of the Walsall Canal

First up is the Gospel Oak Branch, half a mile north of Doe Bank or Tame Valley Junction.

Then, two furlongs further on, was Moorcroft Junction, where the Bradley Branch used to connect the Walsall Canal with the Wednesbury Oak Loop.

Both as viewed as we passed along the Walsall Canal heading north towards Walsall itself. Shortly after passing these remnants of a once thriving canal network we passed a moving boat, Cat Flap, the only one we saw all day (7th April 2011).
