As we went up the Grand Union near the start of our Easter cruise we were surprised to see a boat called Doubting Thomas in the Nether Heyford area. Could a boat really be called that?
We shouldn't have doubted. A little further on was this boat.
Also called Doubting Thomas.
[Poor Thomas is stuck with the "doubting" tag, wanting solid proof of Jesus's resurrection, even though he believed just one week later.]
We looked out for the third one, but didn't see it(!)

What a coincidence that you should have seen two of them!
The first one has that as their permanent offside mooring. The second one used to be a couple of boats along from us as Brinklow Marina. The owner, who was one of the harbour masters died, and the boat was sold at Braunston.
I passed them last weekend and I thought it was a curious choice of name - then there was another one! Is it a biblical reference or are the owners called Thomas and there's a story there....
Who knows? Maybe we can send Adam and his journalistic skills to find out :-)

Adam: What was the name of the harbourmaster who died?
According to the OUP style guide of course, it should be Jesus' resurrection...
Hmm. I have to disagree with the OUP, then. It's only a guide anyway.
Doubting Thomas at Brinklow was owned by Keith. Not Thomas!
