The Nicholson guide to the Lee mentions the "ever-present power lines which stride along..." And here they are, on both sides for maximum effect.
Nicholson also points out that between Cow Bridge and Lea Bridge is Cable Bridge - or should that be a cable bridge?
It looks like a footbridge, but carries (carried?) HT lines. The London Electricity Board existed from 1948 to 1990, i.e. between nationalisation and privatisation.
Why anyone would want to moor to the bridge is beyond me.
I wonder how many other LEB signs had the company's name misspelled!
