Another non-canal-related post, this, but there you go*. Last Saturday we joined the others in the local walking group on a five mile stroll in the spring-like sunshine (well, the sun came out once or twice). We started from Forncett St. Mary, Norfolk, and did a circular walk to Tacolneston (pron. TACKle-stun) and back.
En route was a tree straddling a stream between two fields.
The water flowed between the roots. No mere tree is going to get in the way.
They do say you get a lot of sky in Norfolk. The four specks under the trees are deer.
And here is the same photo, cropped.
Now I'm going to do an Andrew Denny and ask you which version you prefer, cropped or uncropped.
*Look: I have a canal reference, after all.

Cropped - excellent!
definitely cropped
Thanks Lesley and Alan. Yes, there's more chance of spotting the deer; and the sky isn't very interesting.
I like to see the silhouettes of the trees in winter, I prefer the cropped version too, it's magnificent.
Thanks Ann.
