On Thursday 29th July we crossed two of the most spectacular aqueducts on the network.
You round a bend after quite a narrow section of canal with lots of moored boats, and bang! You're straight onto Chirk Aqueduct, accompanied by the parallel railway viaduct.
Then you plunge into Chirk Tunnel. When you emerge, the railway has crossed to the other side.
After the shorter Whitehouses Tunnel, and a lift bridge, it's onto the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, still thrilling, no matter how many times you've been across.
