Narrowboat helps Jan to MA success

For the last three years Jan has been working hard at a part-time MA course at the University of East Anglia. It was in Advanced Educational Practice, and she had to fit her coursework around her full-time teaching job.

Readers of this blog might recall that we enjoyed a marvellous two-week cruise at Easter (from Stockton Top on the GU to Tattenhall on the Shroppie). Much of the time I was steering, Jan was ensconced at the table, working away on her final year dissertation at the laptop computer, free from all distractions of home. It was a combination which worked well.

Some months later the magnum opus was complete. It was delivered to the bookbinder's, collected, and taken to the UEA in July, just before we drove up to Southport for our daughter's wedding. This is it, "It's fun if you know the words", just before she handed it in to the School of Education behind her.

The result came through at the end of las year, and I'm very pleased to be able to report that she passed. The graduation ceremony will be this summer, so there'll be more photos to come!
