Nine week cruise - day 39 - Tuesday 9th August 2005
Chirk to LLangollen
Up at 0815 (what's this? A lie-in?) At 1010 we crossed the stunning Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Then winded and crossed it again. And winded and crossed it again! After all this excitement we tied up in Trevor Basin at 1125. On our third crossing David and two of his children had gone to pose on the grass in the shadow of the aqueduct.
When we'd finished looking round the basin, at 1220, we set off up the remaining few miles of the LLangollen Canal. The narrows were just that, but we got through without incident, and moored in the brand new basin at (almost) the end. We paid our £5 and hooked up to mains electricity for the first time since Bletchley.
