Birmingham prepares to say goodbye to BW

On the island at Old Turn Junction in central Birmingham has appeared a wicker sculpture of a swan.


This will be part of the ceremony to change the running of 2,200 miles of waterways from British Waterways to the Canal and River Trust.

Workers sporting CRT sweatshirts were busy putting up the bunting this morning.


In a few minutes a ribbon will be cut signifying the changeover. I'm on my way back there ...
