Hi Halfie I have had my guess, so will not go for a second attempt, but will follow this blog with interest until all is revealed. As a matter of interest, I have now had my beard for 48 years (apart from a 2 week break for my 30th birthday for a dare) at 68 I am now a little more rotund than those days, and the beard is now very grey, and to add insult to injury for my ego, was asked to do Father Christmas at my Grand Daughters playschool last year (turned it down 'cos she would have seen through the disguise, what disguise??)
How about 1970?

Beardy Chas, no, later than that. And you see I used to be a "Beardy Halfie"!

I don't know how old you were then but I bet you had a jacket with patches on the elbows.
ReplyDeleteNo, Ray! I'm not that old! Then or now!
ReplyDelete1983?
ReplyDeleteYep, I reckon I'm in the ball park......
:-)
I'll settle for 1982. My husband had a very similar haircut and beard when we first went to South Africa, so it seems about right for the time.
ReplyDeleteYour new profile pic is very nice, Halfie. Always good to see a smile!
Well ... I've realised that, although the ID card has a date of issue, the photo might be one reused from an earlier card. The date? 1993.
