"BWB Moorings Class B"

This is a relic of former times, but what were Class B moorings? And Class A moorings? And were there other classes of moorings?
* My log-keeping while cruising is not what it could be - I am full of admiration for those who can record (or recall) every tiny detail of their cruise, with locations, times, and names of other boats in the area!
Halfie,
ReplyDelete"Class B" is a reference to Town and Country Planning legislation under which canal moorings are "permitted development" (i.e. they do not need planning permission). Class B moorings are basically for handling "inland waterway traffic" only and no ancillary development is permitted.
Not many people know that!
I,m glad I didn't kmow that.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim. Were there Class A moorings too, then?
